All games are played using extended length blocks (no 1-hour games in any divisions). Depending on size and makeup, some divisions MAY be split into exclusive groupings, at the sole discretion of the tournament committee to ensure the best competitive balance possible.
All divisions are a five (5) game minimum. Out of town teams must be prepared to start as early as 8 a.m. on the first day of the tournament (June 14).
Hybrid checking is defined as that which is intended to separate player from puck. Unnecessary roughing will be penalized at all levels under regular “roughing” rules. Additionally, open-ice hits where players are moving in opposite directions are not permitted and will be penalized as “roughing”.
After getting on the map as a two-division event in it’s Inaugural season, and growing in it’s second and third seasons, the organizers of the SSHD AAA Elite Invitational (D1) Tournament are excited to return with the 4th edition to meet the needs and wants of Elite (D1) teams from U11 to U15 (2009-2013). We are coaches and parents ourselves and we know what matters most; great competition. We then layer in THE best facilities, THE best atmosphere, THE most professional planning and execution, and surround it with excellent amenities to make travelling to Ottawa for this event a true no-brainer.
