SSHD AAA Super Series 

 

The 2022 SSHD AAA Super Series will pit Senators Spring AAA Hockey Development teams vs. local Ottawa spring teams in a three game, head-to-head battle to determine the Super Series champion. In 2022, the SSHD AAA Super Series will be taking place over three weekends in June at both the Bell Sensplex & Richcraft Sensplex and feature series at the 2010-2014 levels.

What sets the SSHD AAA Super Series apart from a regular spring game?

  • Both teams will participate in all games no matter what, with a champion being crowned at the end of the final game. Each game will have a unique scoring system that builds in importance as the series extends. This means every game outcome matters! If the series is tied at the end of regulation in the final game, a sudden death shootout for the championship will occur.
  • A full professional feel for every game, including professional timekeeping, music during warmup and stoppages, goals and penalties announced and stats kept throughout the series.
  • At the conclusion of the series, tournament all-star teams (3F, 2D & 1G) along with top forward, defence and goalies for each team will be named. These awards will be selected by the coaching staff and management, and be based not only off performance on the ice, but also the core qualities of an SSHD athlete (dedication, sportsmanship, coachability and hard work).
  • A champion is crowned! With the winning team receiving SSHD AAA Super Series championship medals and a trophy celebration.

SSHD AAA Super Series Scoring System

  • Game 1 – 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a tie
  • Game 2 – 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie
  • Game 3 – 3 points for a win, 1.5 points for a tie
  • Game 4 – 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie
