Divisions: Pre-Novice Tier I & Pre-Novice Tier II (teams will be categorized in consultation with tournament staff based on previous spring results)

OSHP Prizing:

Not only will players compete to win the world-famous Ottawa Senators Gold Medals, but every player on each championship team will receive a $50 gift certificate for the Ottawa Senators Hockey Program of their choice (valid anytime in the next calendar year) to help them develop with the leaders in competitive skill development in the Ottawa-Gatineau region! Finalists will receive a $25 gift certificate to go along with their Silver Medals.

Format:

Boys Pre-Novice: 2 minute warm-up, board setup time, and 3 x 15 minute run time periods feating a line-change buzzer every 90 seconds. But wait, there’s more! Between each period there will be a SHOOTOUT featuring six skaters from each team. The winner of each SHOOTOUT will be awarded one-goal on the scoreboard. All players must participate in at least one shootout per game. Coaches are encouraged to rotate which players (if any) are selected to shoot in both shootouts so that it is not the same players each game.

In keeping with Hockey Canada and USA Hockey Novice hockey standards, all games will be played 4 skaters on 4 skaters (plus a goaltender) with a suggested maximum of 12 skaters per team (8 players is the recommended minimum roster size and 10 skaters is our max recommendation for plenty of ice time) using our professionally divided half-size rinks.
