*NEW* NOVICE TIER I DIVISION FORMAT:
With Hockey Canada’s switch to half-ice hockey for Novice aged players, we are excited to announce our new format for the Novice division at the Capital Winter Classic. Novice teams will play three half-ice scrimmage style games per Hockey Canada’s implementation guide, played in hour-long gameblocks, with no score kept. Novice teams will also participate in two, hour-long competitive skills competitions. Overall skills competition winners will receive our incredible Sensplex signature medals and trophies. While HC guidelines do not permit scores to be kept in games, our competitive skills competitions will featuring a scoring system and several events designed to reward exceptional skills, compete levels, and scoring ability.

All Novice scrimmages will be played on surfaces separated by professional rinkboard stlye dividers, ideally suited to turn one NHL-sized surface into two.

The Bell Sensplex features plenty to compliment the action on the ice, including:

  • Stanley’s Restaurant & Bar
  • Hobbins Hockey Shop

The Bell Sensplex is the headquarters for this tournament; however, teams may play games at other local facilities.

Hudson Travel Group is the exclusive travel partner for all tournaments hosted by Sensplex facilities. Booking with them is a mandatory condition of acceptance for all out of town teams.
