2002 to 2012
Bell Sensplex – Week 2 (July 8-12)
Two hours of daily on-ice training in a half day camp format with a focus on goalie power skating, rebound control and recovery fundamentals, stance, angles, butter‑fly slide, inside edge push, and how to efficiently use your blocker, glove and stick.
All on-ice and classroom sessions are designed and led by the Ottawa Senators Goaltending Coach, Pierre Groulx:
Ottawa native, current Ottawa Senators goaltending coach, and former video coach
Other NHL experience with the Florida Panters and Montreal Canadiens
IIHF experience as member of Team Canada’s coaching staff at 2005 World Hockey Championships
Goaltenders will be grouped on ice by age and ability to maximize development opportunities.
Off-ice training will be used to reinforce on-ice development, including video review sessions with Groulx and conditioning sessions led by elite instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex).
Sign-in times for individual camps typically fall between 7:15 AM and 9:15 AM, while sign-out times are usually between 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Specific start and end times for each camp will be posted on individual camp pages by early February. We do not charge for pre or post camp care within the range of sign-in and sign-out times during that specific camp week and are happy to make accommodations for supervision for your child should you have other commitments. We ask that you notify us by email should you need to drop off your child early or pick him/her up late. Please note that early drop-off or late pick-up activities will not involve formal programming, but will feature supervision by camp staff.
