Players will participate in three hours of on-ice skill development daily, designed to improve confidence and ability, primarily featuring individual skill development stations, full-ice skating, and small area games.
Development will begin with instruction on proper skating technique, with drills designed to work on all four edges, which when mastered will allow players to improve agility and speed through an efficient skating stride. Our qualified skating instructors will cover the proper habits for forwards and backwards skating, transitions, crossovers, and tight turns.
On-ice development will progress to shooting with accuracy, quickness and power, the confidence to maintain and control the puck in every game situation, and the stick-handling techniques needed to take your game to the next level.
Off-ice conditioning will develop footwork, speed, agility, and overall athleticism in sessions led by expert instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex) and Titan Performance Center (Richcraft Sensplex).
Additional off-ice activities will include multi-sport fundamentals and games, classroom sessions on topics relevant for all hockey players, and more.
Players in the Girls Only Camp will take part in girls only off-ice activities and may be integrated into co-ed on-ice components at the discretion of our lead instructors.
Goalies will receive teaching from qualified instructors on the technical aspect of goaltending for the first third of each ice session before being involved in drills and stations run with live shooters.
Please note that we will have at least one bilingual instructor with each camp group at the Richcraft Sensplex to accommodate all participants.
START & END TIMES / PRE & POST-CAMP CARE
Sign-in times for individual camps typically fall between 7:15 AM and 9:15 AM, while sign-out times are usually between 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Specific start and end times for each camp will be posted on individual camp pages by early February. We do not charge for pre or post camp care within the range of sign-in and sign-out times during that specific camp week and are happy to make accommodations for supervision for your child should you have other commitments. We ask that you notify us by email should you need to drop off your child early or pick him/her up late. Please note that early drop-off or late pick-up activities will not involve formal programming, but will feature supervision by camp staff.
FRIEND REQUEST POLICY
If you wish to have your camper paired with a friend, please indicate that request upon registering online. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but please be mindful that we cannot guarantee that friend requests will be honoured, as groupings are based on age, skill level and enrollment date.
