White Hot Hockey Elite Summer Training & Season Prep
Sharpen the skills needed to impress coaches in tryouts and early-season games in the White Hot Hockey Elite Summer Training & Season Prep Program. Starting in early August, this two-week program will help players develop a mid-season skill set and enter the year with the confidence needed to excel.
All sessions will be designed and led by Todd White, drawing on the experience gained in his 13-year NHL career, as well as his work in minor hockey coaching and development.
Through constant error detection and correction, Todd and a team of our best Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs instructors will help players hone the habits needed to break away from the competition this season.
Each class will be limited to a maximum of 24 participants. Lessons will primarily focus on developing skating power and agility, teaching puck possession and protection, perfecting precision passing, overall conditioning, and shooting to score – with most work done in small stations. All classes will be held at the Bell Sensplex (Kanata).
Over the course of this intensive two-week program, players will take part in three 1.5 hour ice sessions per week, for a total of nine hours spent on the ice over the course of the program.
Participants should expect to focus on the following areas of skill development: skating power and agility, puck possession and protection, shooting, and passing.
Lesson plans and instruction will be tailored to meet the requirements of the group for optimal skill development and progression. Nightly lesson plans will incorporate individual skill development along with game situation application. Todd actively coaches all participants on the finer points of the game giving instant feedback and correction during drills.
Participants can expect a large amount of individual station work, along with some full-ice and half-ice drills.
