|Birth Years||2000 to 2010 (Competitive & Non-Competitive Groups)|
Two hours of daily on-ice training with a focus on goalie power skating, rebound control and recovery fundamentals, stance, angles, butter‑fly slide, inside edge push, and how to efficiently use your blocker, glove and stick.
All on-ice and classroom sessions are led by Groulx, the current Sens goaltending coach. Groulx has been a coach for the NHL and AHL for more than 15 seasons, including his work in 2005 where he developed Craig Anderson from a back-up goaltender to number one status. He also worked internationally as a member of Team Canada's coaching staff at the 2005 World Hockey Championship in Austria.
Goaltenders will be grouped on ice by age and ability to maximize development opportunities. Both competitive & recreational groups are offered.
Off-ice training will be used to reinforce on-ice development, including video review sessions with Groulx and conditioning sessions led by elite instructors from FitQuest (Bell Sensplex) and Titan Performance Center (Richcraft Sensplex).
