March Break Camp

Breakaway from boredom and make a week off school truly memorable with an Ottawa Senators March Break Camp! Our hockey camps provide world-class instruction both on and off the ice, in a fun and supportive atmosphere designed to develop game-changing skills and improve each player's enjoyment of the game.

Our full-day camps feature 2.5 hours of ice time daily (for ages Novice through Bantam), with a format and philosophy that matches our popular Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps. We also offer a full-day option for the Initiation & Jr. Fundamentals age group at the Bell Sensplex and Richcraft Sensplex.

Our March Break Camps are a great way to make sure your children hone their hockey skills, have a terrific March break, and stay active during their time off school.

We're proud to offer a March Break Camp at all three of our state-of-the-art facilities:

Richcraft Sensplex (Gloucester) - March 13 to 17, 2017

  • Full-day camp for Novice, Atom, Peewee, or Bantam age groups
    • Cost: $355 (skaters) or $209 (goalies)
  • Full-day camp for Initiation & Fundamentals players
    • Cost: $309
  • Schedules: Group 1     Group 2     Group 3     IP Full-Day
    • Please note that camper groupings will be created based on age (consideration to be give to skill level & enrollment date as well). As such, we cannot accommodate requests to be placed with a specific group. Group 1 will consists of the youngest campers.

Bell Sensplex (Kanata) - March 13 to 15, 2017

  • Full-day camp for Novice, Atom, Peewee, or Bantam age groups
    • Cost: $259 (skaters) or $209 (goalies)
  • Full-day camp for Initiation & Fundamentals players
    • Cost: $209
  • Schedules: Group 1     Group 2     Group 3     Group 4     IP Full-Day
    • Please note that camper groupings will be created based on age (consideration to be give to skill level & enrollment date as well). As such, we cannot accommodate requests to be placed with a specific group. Group 1 will consists of the youngest campers.

Cavanagh Sensplex (Northwest Ottawa) - March 16 to 17, 2017

  • Full-day camp for Novice, Atom, or Peewee age groups
    • This camp includes a bonus 30 minutes of ice time each afternoon (3 hours per day total!)
    • Your registration includes a supervised shuttle bus that picks up campers & counsellors from the Bell Sensplex to take them to the Cavanagh Sensplex, and returns campers & counsellors to the Bell Sensplex at the end of each day. Parents may also drop off and pick up directly from the Cavanagh Sensplex.
      • Cost: $159 (skaters) or $139 (goalies)
  • Schedules: Group 1     Group 2
    • Please note that camper groupings will be created based on age (consideration to be give to skill level & enrollment date as well). As such, we cannot accommodate requests to be placed with a specific group. Group 1 will consists of the youngest campers.

*Five Day West-End Camp option - March 13 to 17, 2017

  • Full-day camp for Novice, Atom, or Peewee age groups
    • Camp is comprised of three days at the Bell Sensplex (March 13-15) & two days at the Cavanagh Sensplex in Kinburn (March 16-17)
      • March 16 & 17 include a bonus 30 minutes of ice time each afternoon (3 hours per day total!)
    • Price includes a supervised shuttle bus that picks up campers & counsellors from the Bell Sensplex to take them to the Cavanagh Sensplex, and returns campers & counsellors to the Bell Sensplex at the end of each day (March 16-17). Parents may also drop off and pick up directly from the Cavanagh Sensplex.
      • Cost: $399 (skaters) or $299 (goalies)

Novice to Bantam Full-Day March Break Camps will include:

  • 2.5 hours of ice time daily (Bell Sensplex & Richcraft Sensplex) or 3 hours of ice time daily (Cavanagh Sensplex)
    • A morning session focussed on skill development, with our instructors leading on-ice stations that focus on error detection and correction
    • Development will begin with instruction on proper skating technique, then progress to shooting, passing, and puck control
    • An afternoon session designed to put the skills learned each morning into practice, including half-ice 3-on-3 or 4-on-4, small area games, and activities such as relay races
  • An Ottawa Senators Hockey Camp Jersey
  • Off-ice activities including hockey-specific off-ice conditioning, indoor soccer and other sports with skills transferable to hockey, ball hockey, and classroom sessions designed to teach lessons inside and outside of the rink
  • Goalies will receive teaching from qualified instructors on the technical aspects of goaltending and will be involved in drills run with live shooters

Initiation & Jr. Fundamentals Full-Day March Break Camps will include:

  • 2 hours of ice time daily
    • An on-ice session designed to improve the fundamental skills needed to enjoy hockey this season
    • Development is primarily centred on proper skating technique, but progresses to passing, shooting, and puck control
  • An Ottawa Senators Hockey Camp Jersey
  • Off-ice activities including instruction designed to teach player's how to properly put on their equipment for hockey, indoor soccer and other sports with skills transferable to hockey, ball hockey, and classroom sessions designed to teach lessons inside and outside of the rink

Please note that we will have at least one bilingual instructor with each camp group at the Richcraft Sensplex to accommodate all participants.

Ages, Levels

  • Ages 5-6 (2010-11): Initiation/FUNdamentals Program (IP)
  • Ages 7-8 (2008-09): Novice
  • Ages 9-10 (2006-07): Atom
  • Ages 11-12 (2004-05): Peewee
  • Ages 13-14 (2002-03): Bantam

We strive to deliver an exceptional camp experience to every participant by providing them with a fun, safe, and supportive environment where they may improve their abilities and level of enjoyment in hockey. Hard work and respect will be reinforced at all times. We also aim to provide all clients with the highest level of service before, during and after their participation in our camps. Equipment: All of our hockey programs require full equipment to be provided by the parent/guardian. No child shall participate without: Hockey skates, CSA- approved helmet (with cage), neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, jock or jill, shin pads, hockey gloves and a hockey stick. Please note that a mouth guard is optional, but recommended.
