Capital Sports Management Inc. announces new Senators Spring Hockey  Development Program for 2019

OTTAWA – Capital Sports Management Inc. (operator of the Bell, Cavanagh and Richcraft Sensplex facilities) has announced the formation of a new spring hockey program which will focus on skill development for elite and recreational male and female players from pre-novice (2012-born) to major peewee (2006-born).

Senators Spring Hockey Development (SSHD) offers a competitive/elite AAA stream where chosen players will skate in a more traditional spring hockey program featuring participation in three local spring AAA tournaments with a minimum of 13 games, 14 hours of practice time, 10 hours of FitQuest off-ice training (atom levels and above), classroom sessions and more; all delivered by professional coaches who meet the highest standards of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs. The SSHD program also offers an affiliate stream for recreational level players or those wishing to have a lower commitment level while still benefiting greatly from the extra skill development boost and fun that comes with spring hockey. Players in both streams will also receive a minimum of 10 hours of play in the Senators Spring Youth Leagues for creative and truly fun development time.

The new program will provide players with the fun but highly focused and demanding environment they require by combining non-traditional league games of 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 through the Ottawa Senators Spring Youth Leagues, with professional individual on-and-off ice instruction and competitve tournament play within the greater Ottawa area.

“We’ve brought together some of the very best people in the industry to offer a unique program for our region where players can register as individuals or in small groups to be coached by non-parent, paid, professionals who are exceptionally-well qualified to help boost their development this spring,” said Andy Bryan, director of hockey programs for the Sensplex facilities. “We’ve done so in a way that also offers exceptional value with 50 hours of development time for a price that actually saves money for hockey parents versus a traditional spring program where out of town travel costs may be factored in.”

“I am so excited for the launch of our inaugural Senators Spring Hockey Development Program,” said Andrew Dillworth, Sensplex head of hockey development. “I will personally take a great deal of pride in ensuring that every one of our players receives the very best in skill development from myself and our staff using our professional-level training in a highly competitive environment.”

The 2019 Senators Spring AAA Hockey Development Program will include unique brand new custom-designed uniforms featuring one-of-a-kind Senators jerseys, pant shells and apparel for each player who is selected for a team.

Players will receive individualized coaching from professional skill instructors Andrew Dillworth, Hanna Turpeinen and Nicolas Samson, along with goaltender specific instruction from former Binghamton Senators (AHL) goaltender Scott Greenham and off-ice team training sessions led by current Senators strength and conditioning coach Chris Schwarz’s FitQuest trainers (competitive stream only).
